Elderly Personalised Mobility Device Design
Designing an product for elderly to use it during their travelling without having any hassle but comfort only
Preparing the How might we question
We started to list out all the possible situations that the elderly would face when travelling. From their booking of tickets to the arrival in the country
Journey Map of the elderly travelling overseas. It has the start point from Singapore to Taiwan with every details. With the data collected, the journey map was done by two members from my group.
I came up with 3 concepts for the project and i felt like working on mobility device.
During the project we were went for Eldex 2019 event to get a better understanding on the types of products are designed for elderly
There were many products like walking stick with umbrella, specially designed Elderly beds and more. Lots of smart devices were present in the event too.
I started to do my ideas and building small scale mock up to understand better on the exterior of the device and ergonomics.
I tested out the ergonomics of the mobility device's handle, the height of the seats and positioning of the wheels all needs to be considered
Small Leaflet will be given out to the user stating the safety factor like the speed and checking the conditions of the wheels
